Our Cat - For Real!

The last post I wrote was about a cat that wasn’t really ours. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then.  I started to write a post about "our cat" a really, really long time ago.  So long, I can't remember when.  Here is Macaroni whom we adopted from a departing USAID family:

We loved having him and loved a lot of things about life since I last wrote. There have been a few things that have been a bit less wonderful than having Macaroni in our family, but we are thankful through it all.  And super thankful that Macaroni found a wonderful new home before we left Zimbabwe (right before we left, actually). The family that adopted him sent me this after he was all settled in:

It all happened when Sasha (the tall one) came to say goodbye to good friends and went home with a cat!  We were sooooo thankful!  Sasha was one of my lovely cello students who became friends with Abigail from musical experiences that they shared even though they didn't go to the same school.  The other young ladies are also former students (twin violinists). Oh, how we miss our friends from Zimbabwe!

Besides having (and not having) a cat and leaving Zimbabwe, a few of the other things that have happened since I wrote are a high school graduation, an international move, a new job for me, new schools for the girls, a new country for John.  Maybe I'll write about a few of them as the school year moves forward but I'll definitely try to post as we hear the results of the latest "bidding season" which should be out in December.  I guessed I missed a whole round of that since the last one I posted about was December 2011. Stuff for another day....
